Gil Gonzales is a Senior Economic Development and Public Affairs professional with a fifteen-year track record serving in various strategic capacities within state and local government. He has notable experience leading legislative advocacy, public affairs, and economic development initiatives while designing and executing strategies for effective government outreach and policy at the municipal and federal levels. Gil’s roles include bipartisan economic and business policy implementation that have driven millions of dollars in state funding, created tens of thousands of new jobs, and yielded billions of dollars in regional capital investment among a series of community development programs throughout the western United States.
He possesses deep experience managing and advancing strategic public policy as a senior appointee of elected officials. Gil has a strong financial, real estate, and general management background from working across industry and company life cycles. He has served as an Appointee to Governor Brown in the California Office of Business and Economic Development, Director of Strategic Development for the California Manufacturing Extension Partnership-CMTC, and Vice President of Economic Development for the Arizona Commerce Authority. He has also served as Senior Director to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in the Office of Housing and Economic Development.
