ISD’s first Gathering for 2024: ISD Conference: Strategies for Strengthening State and Local Economic, Environmental, and Community Resilience
With the economic costs of disasters more than doubling every decade since 1980, states and localities cannot afford to be unprepared. With $1 invested in preparedness saving $13 or more in post-disaster costs, economic resilience plans are a must-have.
This event is in Roundtable Format - designed to facilitate maximum attendee participation and will feature presentations, insights, and commentaries from a range of ISD Fellows and invited guests including:
Stephen Jordan on public-private partnerships, small business, and infrastructure revolving loan funds
LC Clemons on Hurricane Helene lessons learned for local communities
David Dodd on the Economic Resilience Scorecard and finance
Rob O'Brian on the role of chambers of commerce
Calandra Cruikshank on the uses and application of data for resilience planning
Nizar Kammourie on water, sanitation, and hygiene
Stewart Sarkozy-Banoczy on precovery
....and many more
With the changes happening in the federal government, this is an incredible opportunity to join ISD's experts and invited guests to discuss the implications of what all of these policy changes mean for state and local emergency management, economic development, and future policies and plans.
In-person or online attendance options are available.
