Karla Ballard, CEO of YING, will lead Friday’s LTR discussion focusing on empowering low and moderate income (LMI) communities through skill-sharing, volunteerism, and technology. After disasters, LMI communities and neighborhoods can sometimes feel abandoned, isolated, neglected, and depressed. Some times they can be the last to receive outside assistance. But many LMI neighborhoods and communities have tremendous social and human capital. This discussion will talk about lessons learned about mapping and building on these assets, and the tremendous benefits that can accrue.
